The Travel Club
The Travel Club began in 1986 . We meet socially on the
third Friday of the month. During the winter months, from February we meet in the afternoon, with tea and biscuits
at 2.30, followed by a presentation at 3.00pm. When the clocks change in the Spring, we meet in the evenings, with tea and biscuits from 7.30pm, followed by a presentation
at 8.00pm. Our presentations are led by a variety of speakers many of which include a visual presentation displaying
other parts of the world, or indeed of our own beautiful countryside. We arrange trips out by coach to various places which are of interest to our members. From the seaside resorts of Llandudno and Morecombe etc, to historic towns and
cities and grand houses, etc.
We have an Autumn Supper in October which take place on the normal Friday evening meeting. In December, we have our Christmas Meal out, when we travel by coach or meet at the venue dependant on the travel involved.
Our Spring Lunch is normally held locally, with members meeting at the venue. We hold a Coffee Morning in August on a Saturday morning and everyone is invited to attend. This is not restricted to members of the Travel Section.
Membership
Our AGM in May is when our committee is re-elected
when the annual subscription of £4 is due. We enjoy
meeting together and hearing about other parts of the world and indeed our Members often add their own memories to the talks. We welcome any prospective members and would like to invite you to attend a meeting before you decide whether to join us and become a member.
