Who We Are:
Originally formed in 1968, we became an official section of Brookdale in 1971. Having recently celebrated our Golden Anniversary, we are proud to support a thriving community of over 100 passionate members.
What’s On: Annual Competitions
Test your green thumb and win! We host four major shows every year. While all Brookdale members are welcome to enter, Gardening Section members compete for prestigious trophies and an RHS medal.
The Bulb Show (February) A burst of spring colour.
The Rose Show (June): Compete for the coveted Rose Cup for “Best in Show.”
The Flower Show: (July) A showcase of seasonal blooms.
The Brookdale Autumn Show: (September) Our grand finale! Exhibit your fruit, vegetables and flowers, or show off your talents in cookery and preserving.
Socialize & Grow:
We believe gardening is better together. Our calendar is packed with popular events:
Monthly Coffee Mornings: Enjoy a chat over coffee and biscuits. Includes plant stalls, quizzes and seasonal talks.
Garden Outings: Guided trips to spectacular gardens and places of interest.
Social Evenings: High-demand events featuring supper and live entertainment.
VP Speaker Nights: Fascinating talks on nature, floral design, and the environment.
