Do you have a passion for painting? Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time or you’re a seasoned professional looking for a vibrant community, we’d love to meet you!
What started in 1999 as a small trial has blossomed into one of the Brookdale Club’s most popular sections. We aren’t a formal class; we are a collaborative club where members inspire, support, and learn from one another in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
Why Join Us?
While watercolor is our most popular medium, our members experiment with everything from acrylics and pastels to pen and wash and water-based oils. As a member, you’ll enjoy a rich annual program designed to keep your creativity flowing:
- Weekly Social Painting: Join us every Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
- Expert Guidance: Workshops led by professional visiting artists.
- Inspiration Outdoors: “En plein air” location painting challenges.
- Cultural Trips: Organized visits to major art galleries.
- Showcase Your Work: Participate in our prestigious Annual Art Exhibition.
- Social Connection: Annual social events and a library of books and instructional DVDs.
Sessions & Membership
We meet on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings (9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) at the Brookdale Club.
- Affordable Creativity: After joining the Brookdale Club, the Art Section subscription is just £4 per year.
- Easy Attendance: Simply pay £2.50 per session you attend, which covers room hire and your morning tea or coffee.
- Holiday Breaks: We take a breather during Easter, Christmas, and the summer months.
New members are always welcome
If you need inspiration, we have books in our library and many instructional DVDs for you to watch.
To join the Art Section it is first necessary to become a member of the Brookdale Club.
